Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her debut EP Pho, released on October 21 2016, was released on Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn fame. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music to the internet in 2012 after she released her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to upload her music via the internet, including her self release single Bound. In 2015, she appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat released on the 21st of July. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to collaborate together with Rihanna. On December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she recorded with Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. In October 21st, 2016 her debut EP was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. And Bas On Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on the 5th of September. On November 9 she released two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 13, she dropped two singles titled One and Pedigree. One as well as Pedigree. She then appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on the 26th of February, 2019 for her debut album the same name. This track, which was launched with a music video uploaded to YouTube February 20, 2019 was watched more than 3 million times in the first 7 days. In December 2018 she was a supporting act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
